Lauren Albert, DPT
Founder
Lauren earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the MGH Institute of Health Professions and began her career with advanced clinical mentorship at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. She spent 3 years providing intensive rehabilitative services to a complex neurological population on the traumatic brain injury floor.
Lauren later worked as a traveling physical therapist, delivering care across diverse healthcare systems nationwide. This experience broadened her clinical perspective and exposed significant gaps in the current healthcare model. Motivated to provide a higher standard of care and to encourage a proactive approach to aging, she founded The Movement Experts. She believes that every adult deserves the opportunity to move with strength, confidence, and independence to maximize their quality of life.
In addition to her private practice, Lauren serves as a lab instructor for doctoral physical therapy students at the Institute of Health Professions, and continues to practice per diem at Spaulding Hospital to remain actively engaged in complex clinical care.
Outside the clinic, she draws on her background as a former Division 1 lacrosse All-American to maintain an active lifestyle. She enjoys traveling, being outdoors, and training for athletic competitions.
She is currently training for the Hyrox world championships in Stockholm!
Emily Stearns, DPT
Emily earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Northeastern University. While she was a student at Northeastern, Emily worked as a personal trainer for students and staff in the campus gym. Following graduation, she began her career in a skilled nursing facility before transitioning to Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, where she spent four years providing intensive rehabilitation services to patients with complex neurological conditions on the traumatic brain injury unit.
Following this experience, Emily joined the newly developed acute rehabilitation unit at Spaulding Cambridge, where she treated patients with a wide variety of medical diagnoses. This role allowed her to expand her clinical expertise and develop a diverse, well-rounded skill set across multiple areas of rehabilitation care. Emily’s clinical passions include fall prevention in the older adult population, rehabilitation for patients with neurologic conditions, and mentoring new clinicians.
In addition to her work at The Movement Experts, Emily continues to practice per diem physical therapy at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys staying active through strength training and hot yoga. She also loves reading, cooking, and spending time with her family, friends, and 2 Siamese cats.
